Animal Crossing New Leaf is for the DS, a hand held system by Nintendo. The fourth in their popular series, this game was originally released in Japan in November of 2012, and released in the United States in June of 2013. It is the second system for the handheld.
New Leaf comes with improvements to the game series. Players are mayors of their towns, and have a say in where town improvements occur, ordinances, and public works.
The downtown area can also be improved in more ways. Previously the town store was the only major change, now there is a shoe store, a fortune teller, Nook Homes, a nightclub, and more.
A popular change is the introduction of QR codes in order to share patterns, and display your patterns at the Able Sisters shop.
